Changes to Keystart minimum construction payment

Keystart is pleased to announce a significant change for our construction customers, with a new minimum payment of a $400 per month during the construction phase. This amount will be reviewed annually.

This change will support more customers without putting additional pressure on them whilst their home is being constructed. Customers may consider paying more than this minimum, to save on the interest accrued during this time.

The Keystart app allows customers to view transactions, set up additional payments and access financial resources and tools. Customers can register for the app as soon as the land is settled.

This change is effective for all new construction applications received from the 25 September 2024.

This change has been a result of consultation and feedback from our partners. We continue to embrace innovation and change to help support more Western Australians into a home of their own.

In addition to this change

We recently made significant changes to our product settings, increasing the accessibility of the Keystart scheme and making home ownership an option for more Western Australians.

Under our new product setting mechanism, our property price limits will be reviewed periodically against annualised median house prices sourced from REIWA.

Our income limits will change to reflect the income required to service the property price limits.

Keystart recommends that you seek your own independent financial advice prior to making any decisions about your financial needs. Any examples given in this post are provided for illustrative purposes only.
